ALEXANDER MOISEEV

Short Biography

Alexander Moiseev is a composer and performer pursuing an undergraduate degree in composition at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Throughout his conservatory studies, he had many works performed and recorded by his colleagues around the United States. He won the Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award in classical composition in 2022, as well as placing 3rd in the Young Artist division in the MTNA competition in 2024. He was also the Canton Symphony Orchestra Fellow from 2024-2025. In addition to his composition degree, Alexander is also pursuing a second degree in music theory, researching the use of deep sky astrophotography and its manipulation as basis for composition. 

Recently, Alexander has set his sights for conducting. He has participated in several workshops, including the Conductors Institute of South Carolina. After organizing countless recitals and readings, Alexander hopes to pursue a masters degree in conducting in the coming years.
