ALEXANDER MOISEEV

Alexander Moiseev is a composer and performer currently studying composition at the Cleveland Institute of Music. In addition to his composition degree, Alexander is also pursuing a double major in music theory, researching the relationship between astrophotography data manipulation and music. Throughout his conservatory studies, he had several works performed and recorded by his colleagues around the United States and Canada, including his chamber opera “Witch,” by the CIM New Music Ensemble. He was the Canton Symphony Orchestra Composer Fellow in 2025, and was Awarded the Donald Erb Commencement Prize in Composition from the Cleveland Institute of Music. In 2022, he also won the Marvin Hamlisch International Music Award in classical composition. Aside from music, Alex has a passion for photo and video work. He is an independent contractor for the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he worked on mini-documentary footage for the CIM marketing department, as well as other photography work. Alex plans to continue his education at CIM, pursuing a master’s degree in music composition.
